In July 2017, digitalHUB Aachen e.V. opened Germany’s first CoWorking Space in a nave in the former church of St. Elisabeth. Together with Norbert Herrmanns’ Landmarken AG, whose family owns the church, the digitalHUB developed the concept for the digitalCHURCH. The modern and functional furnishings were planned and delivered by the furniture store Mathes. Both companies are founding members of the digitalHUB Aachen. The unique CoWorking Space has become the hotspot of the startup scene in Aachen in recent years.
Here, startups, SMEs and industry exchange ideas about their projects in a creative lounge atmosphere – at flexible computer workstations in the central nave, on comfortable beanbags, in retreat niches, in modern meeting rooms or at the Elysée bar. The digitalCHURCH is also the location for the numerous networking events of the digitalHUB community.

With its unusual location in the modern styled former church, the digitalHUB is a beacon of digital change in the Aachen Area. As a digitalisation centre, the digitalHUB forms the nucleus for the up-and-coming district and the digital ecosystem of Aachen North. With the digitalHUB, the Technology Centre and the planned Collective Incubator in the Jahrhunderthalle, a hotspot for innovation is emerging in this quarter.
