Mit Stage Two wurde in diesem Jahr der erste paneuropäische Wettbewerb für die besten Startups, die als Spin-offs aus führenden europäischen Universitäten hervorgegangen sind, ins Leben gerufen. Initiatoren sind die RWTH Aachen University und die HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. Der Wettbewerb findet am 20.-21. Oktober im Radialsystem in Berlin statt. Pro Universität gehen zwei Frühphasen-Startups ins Rennen, die in der University-Runde von universitätsnahen Entrepreneurship-Zentren ausgewählt wurden.
Die Startups pitchen in Berlin live vor europäischen Top-Investoren und Marktführern und haben zudem die Chance, Preise zu gewinnen, die mit bis zu 200.000 Euro dotiert sind. Neben den beiden Hauptpreisen, dem Best Tech Innovation Award und dem Best Business Award (je 200K) werden mit dem Sustainability Award (10K), dem Humane AI Award (5K) und dem Digital Audience Award (5K) drei weitere Preise verliehen. Der digitalHUB Aachen sponsort als Inkubator für digitale Geschäftsmodelle den Digital Audience Award. Das Gewinner-Startup wird vom Online-Publikum ausgewählt, das nach den Pitches für das beste digitale Geschäftsmodell voten kann.

Live pitching of 48 startups nominated by 45 top universities from 21 European countries and 3 wildcard picks from corporate partners.
Stage Two, the first pan-European competition for the best startups that have emerged as spin-offs from leading European universities, was launched this year. The initiators are RWTH Aachen University and HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. The competition will take place on October 20-21 at Radialsystem in Berlin. Two early-stage startups per university will enter the race, selected in the University round by university-related entrepreneurship centers.
The startups will pitch live in Berlin in front of top European investors and market leaders and will also have the chance to win prizes worth up to 200,000 euros. In addition to the two main prizes, the Best Tech Innovation Award and the Best Business Award (200K each), three additional prizes will be awarded: the Sustainability Award (10K), the Humane AI Award (5K) and the Digital Business Award (5K). As an incubator for digital business models, digitalHUB Aachen is sponsoring the Digital Audience Award. The winner startup will be selected by the online audience, who can vote for the best digital business model after the pitches.
